“There are some experiences in life that can only be understood by those who have walked in the same shoes. My daughter has now been absent from our home just over a year. She is currently living over 5,000 miles from our home in Alaska. We are closer now than when she was here with us. Whenever we communicate on the phone, or by letter, or on our visits . . . it is precious and good time together. Every time that I visit the Family school, I’m more impressed with the staff and the students. The Family Foundation School is a special place with special people. We thank God for FFS every day.”

O God,
From whom all blessings flow,

We come before you in prayer tonight,
People of all different backgrounds, traditions, faiths and understandings,
United in our gratitude for The Family Foundation School.

We ask that you might use this evening to transform the harmful emotions and actions
Of those few individuals who seek to tear down The Family School.
Grant a new understanding to those who feel hurt or anger
That all Family School parents, staff, students and alums might be reconciled,
One to another,
And that the mission of educating youth at risk, OUR youth,
Might continue unabated in Hancock, NY

Bless this meal we are about to eat,
And bless our conversations
As we continue to share our experience, strength and hope with one another.

We ask all of this confident that when we trust you,
Blessings beyond our wildest imaginings will be showered upon us all.
